Five things  you have to consider  when studying Public Relations

HI there, yes you. so I had  that you  want to continue with  Public Relation’s, ooh and trust me you made the right choice  not only because  PR is wonderful but PR can serve as an agent of change in many ways in our beautiful country ( South Africa).

But I’m pretty sure that you have to consider some kind of tips or magic formulae while studying PR, because, I tell you this industry is not as easy as it may seem, but if you get this right, the YING-YANG of being a PR shall be glowed nicely on you together with its blessings.

The Five tips or formulae to consider

Number one, The use and misuse of your social media ``weapon-tool``, basically lovely person, what do you do with it, do you use it for good, bad or even evil purposes or Are you like a person from the 60s` who don’t care about it, just remember what you post, state or comment to as a PRP student you must be very careful because your posts might cause you any potential job in future, shame.

Number two, Are you  a 24/7 meaning are you talkative, like me, guys and girls listen this industry is not for silent –shy individuals if you want to be heard get out of your comfort zone and learn how to talk to a crowd with confidence

Number three  Time-management and organizations skills are essential no more doing last minute 5- minute jobs now ,young professionals this is the time ,yes time to get the right things done because as DR Mike Murdock said ``I’m done with getting the right things done``

Are you a writer of poem, stories, articles etc. well let me tell you, do Love writing too much and so much because this will be your selling point in your world as a PRP, you will be focusing on this wonderful skill, from e-mails to catalogues to newsletters .What I can say is that hone this skill now before graduating because your very life to put bread on the lunch box depends on it. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ5iU84aNiJWlGDDTyXNtlAHk4L3B42LOEb-SoH5l-3WGfvlr5_

My last one is … understand the whole bigger picture. It’s easy to understand the theory but as our Communication Lecture here in UJ always pointed out that as a students we always need to understand that every chapter(model-chapter)  in real life is connected, you just only need to Connect the dots

Well young professionals we came to an end of our wonderful talk  thank you for reading do tell what you loved  do tell were I can improve  my words, thank you.

Screening my journal

I do understand that that the is such a thing called the `big five social media channel` with channels such as Facebook is one of them, but my one favored is Blogging, Blogging is fun and releases the professional-fun you, rather the professional- stricter version you, while maintaining the ethicality of course and I advise you to grasp this tips that I’m about to share of which I discovered while learningand doing the Blog assignment

·         Let the creative artist in you surface; For some of us it was eye opening to relies that we natural writers, I thought that I can only write too formal documents and on Formal platforms only like email but this experience showed me that the is so much potential that I have not yet taped in to and I suggest you to do the same.

·          The will always be ethics; Blogging reminded me that while conversation tone is essential but it made me be moral sensitive to what I say or do and this trait will branch out to all other activities I carry out as a PR actioner

·                                                                                                                                                       Remember to talk rather to public-speak ;What it all means is that we as Public Relation  student s writers we are so accustomed to writing formal that we have lost the essence of writing, writing is about art and how you tangle your words, and some of us have lost being conversational and artistic.

·         I have learned to use  persuasion communication in my Blogs without sounding persuasive and unethical

·         Lastly I have learned to tailor my needs of a writer to match up with of the company and most importantly of the target audience to be of one in so much way that my relation building and providing / appealing to needs to my stakeholder is met so that I can build a good working environment with them.
